So tax season got the best of me and I had no time to post anything for awhile but I'm back and almost fully recouped from the "season." A quick update on the Radical Experiment....
1. Operation World - Struggling. I think I stopped in February. Boo! Not happy about that. I actually just started back up a few days ago, though, and plan to do some catching up on the countries that I missed. I really want to commit to all aspects of the Radical Experiment but, like I said, tax season sort of got the best of me.
2. Reading Plan - Plugging away. While I can't say that I kept up with friends, ate well, worked out or prayed for the world specifically using Operation World, I can say that I kept up with my Bible reading!!! Towards the end of tax season I did not memorize the verses and I was doing almost all my reading on Saturdays and Sundays, but I stayed up to date and that was a challenge!
3. 2% in another context - I leave for my first mission trip July 24th!!! A little nervous and a lot excited! Thanks to some very generous people's donations I have almost raised all the $ I need for my trip!!! Yeah!!
4. Commited to a small group - Really lacking. Very discouraged that I can't seem to find a group that "fits." This Sunday I tried a new class. New as in new to me but also new as in they just started 3 weeks ago. It was at 9 AM at church before the service. Funny, I've gone to "Sunday school" my whole life but after being in home based small groups for the past year or so I realized it is so much easier to let your guard down and really get into the Word in a home setting. I really hoped this group was going to be "the one" it just wasn't. Not sure where my next stop will be but I'm very discouraged at the moment. I don't want to "shop" all year for a small group!!!
Anyways, please pray that God will lead me to the right small group and that I will be commited to praying for the world specifically. Also, pray that He continues to reveal Himself to me through His Word and will prepare me for His work in Guatemala!
